Brethren In Christ Church (BICC) is an evangelical denomination that exists to evangelise and to disciple people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. For this obligation to the body of Christ we have developed structures to necessitate this discipleship. The BICC has a training institution called Ekuphileni Bible Institute (EBI) at Mtshabezi. This institution is geared at equipping faithful men and women of God in the evangelical tradition. In addition, the denomination has local churches that are spread across Zimbabwe. These local churches are planted so to evangelise and disciple people in their localities. One of these local churches is Lobengula BICC. Lobengula BICC has a training institution geared at equipping faithful men and women of God in the evangelical tradition called the Ekuphileni Bible Institute Christian Open Bible School (EBI-COBS).

Our focus as EBI is to plant training centres in every town in Zimbabwe. At the moment we have two training centres, one at Mtshabezi Mission and the other one at BICC Lobengula in Bulawayo. The Mtshabezi campus is for those students who can afford to do training on a full time basis. As for the Bulawayo campus it is meant for those who cannot afford a full time program but can manage to do their training on a block release. This part time programme aims at giving students a right understanding of who God is. A right understanding of who God is will lead to a right life style and practise. Secondly we aim at giving students skills for doing church ministry. We strongly believe that the passing on of Christian knowledge, values, attitude and skills cannot be left to chance; hence we deliberately focus on the passing on of Christian values to the next generation of believers.
